Privacy policy

Infinite Ideas Web Design ("we", "us") is a web design and digital marketing agency based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website (infiniteideaswebdesign.com and iiwd.ca), why, and what your rights are. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).

What we collect and why

Information you give us

When you use a contact form, request an audit, use the estimator's "email me this estimate" option, book a call or message us on WhatsApp, we receive what you send: typically your name, email address, phone number, business name, website address and your message. We use it to reply to you, prepare a quote and, if you become a client, deliver the work. We do not sell it, rent it or add you to a newsletter without asking.

Website audits

When you paste a website address into the instant audit tool, that address is sent to Google's PageSpeed Insights service through our server so we can show you the results. We cache results for a few hours and keep a count of requests per IP address to prevent abuse. We do not link the address to you unless you then request a manual audit.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites we collect technical data through server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited, timestamps) for security and to keep the site running. With your consent (see Cookies below) we also use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site in aggregate: which pages are read, from where, on what devices. Analytics data is anonymized where the tool allows and is not used to identify you.

Cookies and consent

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:

• Strictly necessary: a setting that remembers your cookie choice and your light/dark preference. These do not track you.
• Analytics (only with your consent): Google Analytics 4 cookies that measure traffic. We use Google Consent Mode, so if you decline, no analytics cookies are set.
• Third-party embeds: if you book a call through Cal.com or open WhatsApp, those services apply their own policies.

You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser's site data for this website; the banner will ask again.

Who we share information with

Only service providers we need to operate: our hosting provider in Canada, Google (PageSpeed Insights and, with consent, Analytics), Cal.com for bookings, and our email provider. Each processes data on our behalf under their own privacy terms. Some of these providers store data outside Canada (for example Google in the United States), which means it may be subject to the laws of those countries. We never share your information with advertisers or data brokers.

How long we keep it

Enquiries we keep for up to two years so we can follow up and refer back to earlier conversations. Client records we keep for the length of the engagement plus seven years for accounting and legal requirements. Server logs are rotated within 90 days. Audit-tool caches expire within hours.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS, hosted on Canadian servers, with daily backups and access limited to the people who need it. Form submissions go straight to our business email and are not stored in a database on this website. No method is perfect, so if you believe your information has been compromised, contact us and we will investigate and, where required, notify the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada and the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta.

Your rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, subject to legal retention requirements. You can withdraw consent to analytics at any time. Write to [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (priv.gc.ca) or the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta (oipc.ab.ca).

Children

This site is for businesses and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

We update this policy when our practices or the law change. The date at the top tells you when. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
